Wondering if anyone can help. I have one of those red waterer lids that goes on a quart size jar. I raised it up on a brick so they would stop buying it, but now I keep finding it dry. It is like the bubble that needs to release to let more water out doesn't release. During the day it is no big deal, we just tip it to release the bubble, but it worries me that I am finding it dry in the morning and when I get the water flowing again they run over and start gulping and kept at it for awhile. This morning I kept having to tip it over and over they gulped for so long.

Hope someone has some tips! Thanks

I had this happen when I changed the pint jar for a quart a couple weeks ago. Turns out I had been using an actual Ball canning jar, and that worked perfectly, but when I up sized, I chose an old spaghetti sauce jar with the same type of threads, but the neck where the threads are was slighlty (barely!) longer/taller, and it was blocking more of the hole. I kept finding it dry. We changed to a quart Ball jar and it works fine again.

I am using a walmart brand canning jar - I will have to see if I have an Ball jars and see if that helps. It doesn't seem to always do it and I have been using the same jars the whole time which is what is odd.

I had the same problem with my chicks water. My problem got resolved because I moved them out into the big coop that has a large hanging waterer. If you can't do the same maybe you could just find a larger size waterer and hang it over your brooder some how.
