need chicken anatomy books and websites

My 10 year old daughter is doing a report on how eggs form inside a chicken...and you would not believe how hard it is to get a good description of this, much less with a diagram. Can anyone recommend a good book or website that has more then three sentences on the subject?

The Chicken Health Handbook by Gail Damerow has a few pages on it, but again, not a whole lot. Wonderful book though, for any chicken owner!

Wasn't there a fairly in-depth article in the Backyard Poultry magazine
on this maybe two issues back?

Thanks guys, you aren't going to believe this, but a friend gave me a stack of magazines and the only chicken related one was this very issue! I jumped up to find it after I read the posts in case it was the issue you mentioned and it is! It still doesn't talk in detail about the glands though, I think I need an avian anatomy and physiology book...may be tricky to track down in a library.

Most libraries can inter-library-loan about any book. All you have to do is ask them.
