Meet Harley, the black chicken. She is 12 weeks old and is said to be a black orpington/RIR X. The others, well, not sure, but they are 9 weeks old. Problem is, I'm hoping Harley is definitely a she and not a he. My aunt saw this pic., and is sure she is a he. I need others thoughts, and how I can be sure if it is a she or he. Roosters not allowed, and Harley has become my favorite. Will sit in my lap and let me pet her, and would hate to rehome her. She does get after the other three, not aggressively, but more like you're out of line, I'm in charge. I was thinking because she is a little older, and bigger than the others. Again, others thoughts and how can I be sure would appreciated. Thanks!!!

If I'm not mistaken, there appears to be pointy saddle and hackle feathers. I'm not very familiar with the breed, but based on that I would say rooster.

Looks like a cockrel to me. My birds are about the same age and the only ones with the red combs and waddles are all cockrells. Sorry.
