Oh MY!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your birds. I know how I would feel. I just hate seeing so many of these post. It's just so sad.

Good advice, the two roosters were found wondering together and are currently housed together. When I called them today, they said they had 3 others come in, but are not sure if they are boys or girls. Very sad.

I too feel very sad for what you have found, sometimes peace is not a good thing.
Im glad that you have a roo/s to rescue to focus your energies into.
Its also sad to think that your freerange days may be over, unless you can invest in high fence.
I have a wonderful dogproof fence which is only 6ft high but is made of tin and preds cannot see whats behind the fence.
If you can, try and source some sheet metal fencing it doesnt need to be around the whole of your property, just need it from your the back of your home to 75 metres or so around.
That way your chickens can be safe from dogs at least.
Just something I had to suggest.
I hope your week gets better.

I am so sorry. You just feel helpless sometimes as what to do. I know it is not the same but hopefully your others will be some fulfillment to you.

Here is the update.

I checked the Montgomery County Humane Society Saturday morning and the two Delaware Roosters were no longer available. I called them and they said that they were no longer available, but could not tell me if they were adopted, just that they were not available. I had been in contact with Krturpie (FREE: 2 Partridge Rock Roosters in Maryland), I went and picked up one of the Roosters and brought him home. He is doing fine with the ladies.
