Need coop help

How big should my coop and run be for 4 EEs?

According to most BYCers that would be 16 square feet for the coop and 40 square feet for the run.

I would do a 6x4 base. By the time you build the walls and all it will be a bit smaller. Or better yet build it 4X8, because the laws of chicken math say you will end up with more chickens over time.

Hey, Definitely build as big as you can and afford. Chcikens are addictive, even for an old city boy.. gone county like me. I did 10' x 12' hen house and 20' x 24' run and am already trying to decide where I am gonna make space for more. We have gone "Chicken Crazy". We originally thought we'd have maybe 20......well, that soon changed. We have 34 to date and trying to keep it in check. For now.
Love it....do what ya want. Life is short......you are dead forever.....Enjoy your chickens.

Or whatever you come up with. If they are to free range you only need 2 to 4 sf per bird. The options are endless. Wish you the best.

My 4 eight week old chicks are in a 12 x 6 foot coop and they are already bored - I'm glad they will be in the run full time soon. ( I'm still watching their interaction with the bossy old hens) pic on my site.
