Need coop plans

Thanks. I had set up a temporary coop on my 5 x 5 dog pen and covered it with roof and fence panels with a 10 x 10 run. We decided today that actual coop will be built on 15th so we will leave in dog kennel they are currently in until then. The new coop will be built next to the pen and there will be so much noise going on that it might be too much excitement for them. The kennel is in my 12 x 20 workshop. By the way, your profile picture is so relaxing.

Thank You! :) My chickens are relaxing to me too as you can see. I keep a chair by the coop. Not sure who it’s more relaxing for though me or them.

New question. I have dog kennel panels. I also have a couple of rolls of chain link fencing. Instead of putting hardware cloth on the outside of the panels what do you think of attaching the rolls of chain link to the panels? Also the coop will be under a lot of trees. Tons of roots. Digging would be a nightmare. I was thinking of cutting the chain link and laying it flat on the outside of the run and attaching it. Anyone done this?

Roosts are recommended not to go above 30 inches for any age birds.
Huh, never heard that one.
Roost height can depend on foot print of coop providing adequate landing area, or other means of descent from roost to floor.

Usually first week of life chicks on 90-95 degrees wean by 5 degrees each week till feathered out and at 70 degrees.
Old 'rule of thumb'......can go cooler faster and behavior is a better indicator than hard regimented numbers.

Nope needs the hardwire coons, possum can reach through chain link

Can you show your ventillation? Is it under the eaves?
Will take pictures this weekend. Haven’t quite finished that part. I went with an A frame roof with metal on the roof. The metal has shearing and tar paper under it. I left a crack under the ridge cap and under the eaves. The walls are 8 ft so with the high walls and ceiling peak it will draw enough through the pop door and eaves to push the heat out the top. I plan to put a hardware cloth soffit to keep birds out.
