Here, there, and everywhere...
My family is in trouble financially right now big time and I'm looking for creative money making ideas, things I can do here on my farm to make a little cash.
I have about 4 acres of space. Obivously growing things is out right now as we're at the end of the season.
I'm starting to make dried hydrangea and grapevine wreaths to sell.
I have been selling my ribbon winning jam for $4 a jar.
I had 8 Cuckoo Maran Pullets but I offered a few for sale and people wanted them so badly that now I only have one left and still a bunch of other people that wanted some. I'm thinking about getting some day olds and selling them since the breed seems to be in high demand around here and no one has them.
I also just found someone selling 50 pumpkins for $60 and was thinking about re-selling them, do you guys think I could make like $3.00 each on them?
I'm not getting any eggs right now so I'm not making anything off egg sales.
If you have any ideas please toss them out. I'm desperate and at a block.

Looks like you are already off to a creative start with what you are already selling!

If Cuckoo Marans are popular you may want to explore that arena a little further.

Now is the time that people are thinking about pumpkins as well. Not sure about your area, but they are pretty expensive here in CA. Depending on their size, you may be able to ask a little more than $3 each.

Not much help from me, but I just wanted to extend a little support your way!

Good luck.

I totally understand the frustrations you are feeling with financial issues... we're there also. I don't have any helpful ideas at the moment but I do want you to know I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Yes , it seems as though you are on a start. Are you familiar with the term"Wild Crafting"?
My husband knew a guy that sold dried weeds (NO, not marijuana!) that he gathered from his fields and bundled them for florist and home crafters.
Perhaps there is a farm near with wooded area that would allow you to scavenger / glean the fields.
I do a lot of EBAY myself. Just JUNK! to me is someone else's treasure!

This is not creative but alot of peole sell scrap as in metal scrap,i had someone come and get all my metal scrap and they sell it.Was a easy way to clean out my yard and it helped some one else out.Don't forget to turn in those cans for cash to.
If i think of anything else ill post it,im drawing a blank at the moment on creative ideas....

I think your ideas are great. I would also check around to see if you might have some stuff to sell on e bay. Sure, this may only be a temporary fix, but for now it might help out.
Good luck.

Why not hire out some personal services? Think outside your farm and you may find more opportunities.

Clean for folks and rake leaves before the holidays or babysit...

The dried Weed comment gave me a giggle.

Further on the pumpkins I was thinking about painting some, and/or even carving some already and selling them ready to light with a candle inside... I'm really good with pumpkin carving, every year my doorstep jack o lanterns are a hit.

When you start getting eggs again you can blow them out and sell the blown egg to local crafters, or make wreaths with the eggs in it. You can take a feather and paint one side of it press it to a card stock and make post cards or make greeting cards and then put them up for sale.
