i got a hovabator online (maybe premier1 supplies) that was VERY reasonable. it has a fan, cheap thermometer (i got a back up with humidity reading as well in case!) and i got it with the auto turner...really i think i only paid about $50 and i have had lots of successful hatches. you have to be on it...looking and checking temps and humidity and adding water etc but it was quite exciting to SEE them hatch! i never had before. made myself crazy checking constantly, online all the time asking questions! great experience!I don't have an incubator, and I want to be able to interact with them, so I can't let a hen set. I'm not much worried, just would prefer to not have single combs on silkies.
