I gave some chicks to a friend earlier this year and yesterday she sent me a picture of one asking if it was a roo(it was). The little guy is one of my buff laced/buff chicks and is Beautiful! I told her i'd like to have him back since she was just gonna sell him so i swapped her for some hops rhizomes.

when i got there today to pick him up i could see his color better and his buff is MUCH better than his dads, comb is nice and legs are yellow. I checked his tail for lacing and it is laced but it's "backwards"... the inner color is white and lacing is buff.

What i need to know is, is he still any good for breeding or is it just going to much things up with his lacing being opposite what i want? I was hoping i could breed him back to his sisters or some GL girls but I think my plans might be shot now.

(I will try to load pics from my phone in a minute)

The problem is that he's laced with Buff instead of white, so it's got me a little confused! I guess if I can't keep him in the BL coop he will just hang with the egg layers, he's too pretty to get rid of & I have some of his sisters that are similar in coloring(white tail feathers).

See the lacing in his tail? totally backwards!

Maybe I will just keep him with his sisters and see what comes of it. A couple of them also have the white in the tails but no lacing. I'm still excited to see how he grows, I didn't keep any buff boys this year but all the girls are much better compared to their dad. Maybe I can use them for a different project later

This bird would qualify as a white tailed buff. What you see is not "genetically" laced, just pretty ;)
