Just because someone has yellow gook on them doesn't mean they are the culprit - they might just look guilty as a result of being the next chicken in the next after the egg eater did their crime.
I thought I'd never see another egg when my RIR started eating them. For her, I think it was partially out of boredom. I moved her to a different area for a while and she forgot about eating eggs.
Now we have alot of chickens and occasionally I'll find eggs covered with yolk. I don't know if someone is laying a shell-less egg or if some eating is going on, but it seems to just happen more than be chronic.
