Need hatch buddies for or close to the 18th!

I candled them and they look clear.

How far along...are you also due the 18th? They are one of the easier ones to see if there is mass or not. If you are due around that time and they are clear, they may be duds. Sorry...

I candled again last night, there was one that I just couldn't see anything in. Very dark, but it is a green one, a very large green one, so I am hoping it is a good egg, not a bad egg..that decides to explode. I'm not seeing real dark lines around the bottom, so I'm not tooo worried. All of the others are moving and growing! Tues..!

I am getting excited! I candled last night (I'm on day 12 and 9) and about 25 of the 31 look good! Including the one I patched with a bandaid! I'm still worried that the humidity is too high though! We have had a lot of rain here so I hope they lose enough water. We are going out of town this weekend. Hopefully the tornados, earthquakes and storms leave them alone! Lol.

HI! Can I join? I totally missed this thread. I think mine are due on the 20th. I've already cleared out all quitters and I'm down to 10 eggs. At this point, I worry. Its my first attempt at hatching my own chicks. All of the eggs are dark through a good portion, you can see the air sac one one side, then darkness, then you can see light on the other end. I don't see much movement anymore though. I think I'm on day 11 now. I don't know what to look for. I need to get a good flashlight tonight if I Can remember, my candling setup is pretty rough! LOL

Welcome! I have one also that I can't see anything in, but I'm not too worried at this point. Green egg, they are usually as hard to see anything as a maran. If you like to candle..a good candler you need!

4 out of 12 isn't bad. You will have little ones running around before you know it. Keep them nice and warm right now..don't worry too much about the humidity, except it getting too high, and then worry about the humidity during lock down..if they are chicks..keep it between 60 and 65 for lock down. Humidity that is.
