Oh, loving the colors here. Have to tell you..we live next to town called Salem.
And, about the saying on the bottom of your post...I was one that loved the woods. Camping, hunting...hiking..I still hike up one area that isn't too hard on me now..just love being in the mountains here in Utah..beautiful! I've hunted deer, pheasant, gone with DH for antelope, but didn't actually hunt them..quail..had a great hunting dog back in the day..she was pointer, English Setter. Loved watching that dog hunt! She was good! She could hold a bird like no other.
Loved going in a field one day after some guys had come out with nothing, then they sit back and watch after telling us that we aren't going to find anything in that field because their dog just went through it, and then right away, she gets a scent, we are sooo hoping it's a rooster because that's all we could shoot at that time, and sure enough, get up to her as she's holding it, and up goes a roo...we got him, the guys watching hurried into their trucks and left.
Now having shared all of this, and yes, we did eat our deer, pheasant, elk, but as of today, no one is having one of my chickens on the dinner table!
