Hey everyone,
Any Updates? I candled the other day and saw movement, it was so neat. Anyone else have anything major happen? I have about 6 that I think are duds. They look clear with maybe a blood ring, but I am afraid to open them up. Don't want to chance it. How long do you think I can wait before they start smelling or explode?

Yeah for me the major that happened was that the duds I thought i had? Have movement now! lol
14 chicks! I hope they all make it. We will know soon right?

Enlarging runs, building more coops...Oh I wish I could join in. The ground is still frozen and covered in snow and ice (it rained and froze on Mon.). Def. in my plans for Mar.(?), Apr.(?), May(?)...
I've been reluctant to handle the eggs the last few days but the readings are fine and nothing smells funny.

Well, I am not doing anything outside, its just too cold. I wish it were spring, I would be working in the garden. I am just watching my eggs like a watched pot. You know that saying, "a watched pot never boils", well that will probably be me. The bad thing is the eggs I actually wanted (4 Salmon Faverolles) are looking to be duds. I am really hoping something happens with them soon, there are only 3 now. The 4th came busted.

I had a temp spike

like 104 and I was at work so I dont know how long it stayed up that high. I tried to candle them but they are dark eggs so I can't see much but a blob. The buff rock eggs seem ok? but who knows. they are not as full of movement as they were 4 days ago. I guess there is less room in there.

I can't wait till this is over, I am so stressed. I will DEFINITELY get a digital thermometer system in the future, this wafer crap is for the birds. ha ha ha get it? for the birds
