I've been so careful with the temps. I candled last on Monday night, and they were all there moving. Some had actually filled the egg up to the air space. So it's just waiting now. Gosh didn't this go by fast?

I spent yesterday evening on the phone w/ a Lyon Tech. tech re: the suro. The humidity has bumped up as it was supposed to but when I check the temp w/ the hygrometer it's 95.7-not very comforting.

I may just keep them all in the LG and load the wells with strips of sponge to see if that helps the humidity. Oh, yes and prayer...

Any suggestions?

Lock-down at 8:30 am

Experiment:

I have 3 chick eggs and 5 duck eggs in the Eco 20 with auto turn. Technically I cannot stop turning the

hen eggs without stopping the duck eggs. All the eggs are upright in styrofoam cartons. I am leaving the "auto-tilt" unit running for all

eggs while I increase the humidity. Since the chick eggs are always head up and are simply tilted I don't see a problem. If I am missing

something obvious please tell me!

I think my temp is a bit low, and I'll probably start hatch by the end of the weekend. I going to replace the wafer thermostat with a water heater thermostat from Lowes, my husband work with the wafers, and isn't terribly fond of them either.

I've always been told to stop and remove turning units at lockdown, as you don't want to remove it while birds are hatching, and if you miss one, it could get injured.

I don't know how that model works, but if you had the unit open for awhile, it may take a little bit to heat back up.

My first lockdown did the same thing........increase humidity=decrease temp by several degrees. If you are not afraid of a spike you could

tweak the temp up a bit ( I just left mine alone). I read earlier that exact temp is not critical at this stage of the game.

my husband called and says "Lisa, are they supposed to be chirping noises? what do i do"
i was like WOOOO HOOOO!!

I'm finally in lockdown mode! Decided to go w/ original plan and tweaked the Suro temp for the BCM eggs, still a little low(they supposedly need higher humidity-so I'm not going to go against the grain). The ee's are in the LG- I cut strips of sponge and put them in the channels and filled w/ water. I couldn't get the humidity up past 40% using dry incubation so I'm "cheating" now.

Here's to hoping for some more feathered buddies for our flocks!
