Need hatching buddy! Setting 5 duck and 5 hen eggs Sat 1/16

As for the one with the beak poked out......
I really don't know what happened? It was a BCM. It died before the temp spiked, so I know it wasn't that.
I opened it up a little and the chick looked fine, so maybe it just wasn't meant to be. Sadly.

well i am sorry that happened but you are right, it wasnt meant to be. I think I am going to have a problem too. Will see what happens. I dont want to reach in there and see if it is alive but I dont see movement any longer

A BCM is zipping (slow process with thick shells and membranes), some of the body is exposed and it's rocking away. The 3 ee eggs in the LG aren't noticably progressing but I'll root for them! Not sure about other BCM eggs but will wait 24+ days, I'm sure. It doesn't seem their eggs make it easy. 2 of the BCM look like there starting to pip. The shells don't crack or show fissures but little flecks of membrane underneath shell.

Ladeefire, what an awesome first hatch!!! You could have some late bloomers, too. You're a pro and didn't know it!

Great chicky pics from all!!! Today being official hatch day for some of us should bring more great pics!

Still waiting for mine, though my temp was low. I'm trying to figure out what my humidity REALLY is, as I have two hygrometer and I'm not sure if either one is right. Sorry for your no-shows, but you all have a nice bunch of peeps!

lost electricity again for 3 hours last night. moved incubator next to fireplace. the temp got no lower than 87 degrees. i think my hatch will be delayed until tomorrow if they hatch at all.

during the night another chick hatched but she is weak (he/she)
one egg still has nothing (chilly willy)
and one has died after pipping (sad)

taht is about an 87% hatch although I am not giving up on chilly willy until tomorrow. Today is day 22

jimmiantheboyz - pics!!

heretige and cubalaya i am waiting with you!

WooHoo! My first 100% hatch! All looking good. I am real happy and proud!
And Hubby saw a chickless shell with my silkies, so the chicks must be hatching outside as well

Having a hygrometer (or any measuring device) that you can't trust is frustrating. Do a search on this site for an easy way to calibrate

your hygrometer. Mine was off by 7 points!
