Need help/advice for goose not eating and wobbly

Sounds like slight improvements! How does her poop look now? Oh, I forgot to suggest weighing her daily. I find i best to weigh them at about the same time in the morning before their first feeding.

I went ahead and weighed her just now to get an idea. I'll weigh her in the morning like you suggest to compare with the first weighing of 4 lbs. It was a bit hard to tell since her head was in the way this time, but it looks like about the same maybe a little less. She definitely needs to get more food into her and bring up her weight 50ml 4x per day isn't enough. Will keep increasing the amount as long as she is taking it well.

Her poop continues to look like the baby food formula and still pea soup green. But no more neon colors since I saw it 24 hours ago. She is still drinking plenty but it's only straight water now since the formula contains plenty of nutrition.

Day 13 was a good day. Finally it's time for all birds and humans to get some much needed sleep (although Diamond has been napping for much of the day

). The 4:30 pm feeding was a bit challenging (I'm thinking she's about had enough of the tube) but we managed. The 9 pm feeding she was very good but I had hubby helping this time. She is getting about 52ml now but it is thicker. We'll up it to 55ml in the morning and see if we need to increase during the day from there depending on if she will try eating on her own or not. She did put her face near her food and I was about ready to cheer - then she turned her head and took a drink instead

. She is still drinking plenty of water.

Tomorrow will be her third dose of wormer and will start the antibiotics. Her poops are improving. They are still runny and green mostly the consistency of the formula with the occasional green slime. At least that's better then straight liquid with and without the bits of green slime. So far I haven't seen neon green since the one from yesterday afternoon.

The weather is still cool but not cold like yesterday and it's raining and will be raining tomorrow and possibly Sunday too. So I still have the heat lamp in there with her to keep her warmer during the evening.

Will update any new news tomorrow where we will going on a full 2 weeks (14 days). I still believe that if I didn't learn the tube feeding from Kathy I wouldn't be giving this update. I'm so grateful for all of your support. It means the world to me to have you girls to talk to.

That is a great update.. I'm with Kathy very proud of you and what you've done to help Diamond.

Looking forward to that time you come on and say she has eaten on her own.
That will be the day of rejoicing!!

Update starting day 14 (two weeks now) and good morning everyone.

Not ready to celebrate just yet, but the day is starting out very well. I awoke early before sunrise (although it's raining and really is no sunshine). Started the coffee brewing and still groggy myself I let all the ducks and Blackfoot out into their pen. Then let Diamond out of her confinement area while I went to prepare her morning meal. While stirring up the fresh batch of baby food I witnessed her at the hanging feeder and it appeared (not really sure) that she took a few bites. Whether or not she did, this was the first time I have seen her even take an interest in solid food.

I took out her baby formula and wormer and tubed her with only 52ml. I meant to do more but I was still sleepy and am in a lot of pain today that I spaced out and even forgot to add the antibiotic. She put up a fight but I did get the tube into her. A couple of times while I was in the process of pushing the food through she held perfectly still and her eyelids were not blinking... I thought the worst. I spoke to her and asked if she was ok then she started squirming a little. whew, she had me scared for a moment. She did that twice. Once I removed the tube she was all too happy to get away from me.

Since she showed a small interest in the regular feed and was trying to forage through the straw I decided to try a treat (so far she had been disinterested in any treats). I chopped up a large handful of iceberg lettuce and put it into a small bowl. She dug right in. She is eating it slowly - a bite here and a bite there. She has already eaten half of it approx. 1/2 cups worth. I made some rice last night and set some aside. I put a small container of that out there too but she has not touched it.

But I am happy to see that she is willing to eat something solid.
