The one egg I had like this.... I was on day 25! I tried to help it and I killed it

I know if I had left it alone and been patient, it would have made it. And if it hadn't.... it was probably too weak to be good for breeding.

If this happens to me I candle to see where the beak is then make a small hole, carefully. I have lost too many that were too big to move and they smother. I make a small hole and that's it, nothing further. I feel better because they have some fresh air. Upon candling you should be able to tell if the chick is too big. After you are done you can add some hot water to bring the humidity back up. This is just what I do

Good luck!

It is finally pipping !! i just broke a lilltle more of the shell away shell only not the membrane !! Then I put a dab of warm water on it. I can see its little beak now as its membrane it starting to tear more from the inside. I am leavingit along for now . I am going to give it time to work for itself for a while.

Anything yet?

I don't want to argue about this, but chicks being to large to hatch is NOT normal. If you have too many like this something is wrong. The only time I think this would happen is if possibly you are hatching pullet eggs. Chicks are normally very tight fitting in the shell. They need to be able to get traction to move.

It is wiggling like crazy and I can see all of its beak and a little of the wing. I think it is about 1/4 of the way out. I have helped it a little more but now I am waiting. I know it is alive and is getting plenty of air. The rest is up th her. Thanks
