Need help ASAP (chick hatched with possible defect)

I just pulled him out to check on it and in my opinion it looks a lot better!!

would be a good idea to swab that ( I do this for all my newly hatched chicks) with 10% povidone Iodine 2x a day for 3 days.
you can get it at any drug store, wally world, etc.

I hatched the little black one to the left (on day 22) with a different group of chicks. Since she was little and had an out-ie, I kept her from chicks her age. 1 week later from diff eggs my other black one hatched and was normal. I put the 2 together and bought the other 3 chicks to give them company. I will eventually combine groups, they are separated by a mesh screen at the moment. It did give the out-ie belly button chick more time. and she is only as big as chicks a week younger than herself, but active.

Yeah, that is a good idea to prevent infection. I like iodine more because no resistance from bacterias, and it also works against other kinds of infections, like fungal, where antibiotics are useless.

And the chick does look better, in a few days nothing should be visible anymore.
