Need help ASAP please!

Dianna...I have had one like that in the past. You might consider giving him some poly vi sol (no iron) and some egg yolk in tiny tiny pieces or even in some vitamin solution. That seemed to kick my little guy into geer! I am hopeful he will kick right in for you.

Hi,
Thank you !! I'll be going to our drugstore to get some Polyvisol in a litte bit, I can't get him to eat anything solid like cooked egg yolk, but I know I can get him to take raw. I just noticed this morning that it has an extra little to on one foot, so something was wrong with it from the beginning. I don't care, doesn't bother me. I just hope it lives. How many drops should I mix in to the egg yolk, I don't want to give it too much. Thank you again for the info, I hope it really does kick my little one into gear !!!!!

Good morning,
Yes, it did hatch out, that night while we were sleeping. It's VERY weak, and small. It survived all day yesterday, and is still alive this morning, but is still weak, not sure this one will make it, but I'm hoping and praying. I've already gotten attached to it, I've been carrying it with me wrapped inside my shirt pocket. It can't walk too well. I've been giving it tiny bits of water, and baby bird food just to get something into it, I'm hoping I can build up it's strength enough to be able to put it with the other chicks. The other two that I had to assist are alive and well, running all over their box with the others. One was a little weak looking at first but I have them here next to me, and they're just fine, eating and drinking normally. I guess time will tell how it goes with my sickly one. Thanks everyone for all your help, you've all been wonderful. Hope you all have a blessed day.

i'm so glad that it made it out!! If you have a animal/farm store you can get to, you may want to pick up some sav-a-chick to put in the water for it. Also, you can do the 2 tablespoons of sugar to a quart of water or a tablespoon of honey (so I've heard). But only for a couple days as it can work as a laxative. Also, a boiled egg smashed up for them might help too. Good luck!

Thank you Amy !!
At this point I'll try anything, heading to the kitchen ! I doubt our feed store has the Save a Chick, but I will check. If not I'll order it for the future, good to know. I Love BYC, everyone here is so helpful. Thanks again Amy! Have a blessed day!!

You are welcome. Hope it helps and hope he gets better. You (and the chickies) have a blessed day as well.

I would boil some eggs and crumble up the yolks for the little one to eat. You can also mix the yolk crumbles with the starter feed. They love it. Another way to get them to eat a lot is to simply add water to their feed so it looks like oat meal.

This chick isn't eating on it's own, it's very weak. But I did go buy the Poly Vi Sol that was recommended , and am giving it yolk with the drops, and a little sugar water to drink. Seems to have picked up a little, so hopefully this little peep will make it. Once it's able to eat, I will do the yolk crumbles, I feed cooked eggs to my chickens when they are sick or if I can tell they don't feel well. I like the idea of adding it to the chick feed, great idea. will do that with the rest of the chicks in the mean time, thanks!

Good luck. I hope he rallies! I put the poly vi sol ( no iron) in the water too.

I use them both...but, you can pick up the poly vi sol ( no iron) at the drug store. Baby vitamins. Some people swear by it. I have had good experience with it when I couldn't get my small baby to drink his water with sav a chick or chick electrolyte or just couldn't make it to drive an hour to TSC. Just a preference.
