Need HELP ASAP update

I've seen several of my hens help chicks that were having trouble. True, they can probably tell the difference between the chick being 'stuck' or the chick being 'off', but this looks like a problem with too-high humidity. My guess is nothing is wrong with that chick. The chick can't help it if the humidity is too high.

I was doing good keeping the humidity right 65% to 70%, but it must have jumped way up when they all started hatching. I just helped him out a little and he is almost out of the shell.

I usually run 50% for hatch at most, but that's me. I've been known to forget about them and have chicks or ducks hatch in the turner with less than 30% humidity

He is fully out of the shell and chirping like mad. Only one problem he has dried membrane and half the shell stuck to him. Would a wet q-tip help to moisten the goo and help get it off?

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately we had neither of them but we did get the shell off and most of the membrane. Looks to be doing fine.

In my last batch I had one make it out without any problems. It was weak and could barely walk and ended up dying. Another was stuck because it was wrapped in a dried membrane (low humidity - not in an incubator but under a hen). I moistened the membrane and helped it get out. It lived and is doing fine.

Personally I'll get involved and give them a chance but that is just me.

I kept telling myself not to help and let nature take its course, but I couldn't look at him anymore and not help. I think in the future I will help if I can.
