Need help ASAP!!!

The guys will need to look up and in to see if the piece of soffit is up there. It might be.

I struggled to do the repair and definitely didn't have the height to see what was going up there. It was tippy toes to staple and to tape the hardware cloth!

I'll ask them to do the repair -- it needs to be done regardless. Thank you for the suggestion.

My coop wasn't always a coop so the vents are rather high. I'm average build for a woman and needed to cover the one vent with something in the middle of winter. Snow was actually coming in.
So I put a large sturdy board across two buckets then my step ladder on that! To top it off I didn't have a staple gun so I was swinging a hammer wildly over my head. LOL
What we won't do for our chickens!

Lol - you sound creative with your solutions like I am (when not in a stunned phase).

I only have one "coop" that was meant to be a "coop." Everything else is repurposed as the animal needs grow and change. :)

I try my best with what I have. I think we all do.
I'm not sure what the building was originally. It's large and has a side storage area with shelves. I would get rid of that area, it's dark and dingy and unused, but the flooring isn't the same. There are actual spaces between the floor boards.
I've used pallets and tree branches and whole trees in the coop. My nest boxes are Rubbermaid totes. (easy clean) My brooder when I hatched this year was a baby play area with a tarp. LOL
The chickens are spoiled rotten and I don't think they know they are chickens. As long as they are happy and healthy it's worth it to me. :)
