Need HELP!! ASAP!

I have 8 eggs. 2 hatched and others have pipped. My humidity is currently 65% with two vents open using a farm innovator incubator. Do I close a vent? I have to leave for several hours and im afraid it will drop too much, but dont want to suffocate those that hatched! Please help!

If you are only going for a couple of hours, I would suggest not closing a vent. I would be concerned that humidity might climb too high.

Wow do I love this site! Would i be ok closing one? If one hatches while im out humidity may jump again

Do you have a humidifier? The kind you plug in that make steam when you are sick. I have used those to raise humidity externally. You just plug it in beside your incubator and let it heat up and steam for a while. When the room is nice and steamy, then I lift the lid to do what I need to do.You can add water if you need to without shrink wrapping everyone. Just be quick. You don't want them to get cold.

How long have the vents been open? If it has been maintaining 65% with them open you should be fine I would think.. good luck on your hatch!

I always use the humidifier when I open it because if humidity drops too low after they have piped, then they may get stuck inside the shell. Depending on what room they are in you may be able to boil a large pot of water somewhere nearby.
