I have a chick, smallest from the group right now, was second until her older brother passed. She's currently very tired and her poop has not been looking too good!

Yesterday night, I found her sleeping very weird and I knew she was sick immediately. I gave her a mixture of an amount of a small icecream cup of water plus 1/2 tsp of sugar, water, and baking soda. She didn't drink all of it, but she immediately perked right after drinking it until once again getting tired.

Throughout last night, she got better. She was alert, sleeping well, and breathing well. Her watery yellowish-brown poop somewhat dissipated and it became brown and slightly almost solid.

But when it was morning, it started becoming yellow-brown and wet again. I went and got her premoxil, but I found her being active in the morning again when I came home and she wanted to go play with her brothers. She showed signs of activiness such as digging, but later while her brothers were sand-bathing, she went near them and started to sleep. I brought her inside and she's been sleeping since. Later I come back and check and I realized she pooped light red somewhat solid.

I'm now super worried. I've been chatgpting for advice since I've found her sick but I need an actual person's answer! What do I do and what's going on with my sweet little chick?

Probably coccidiosis and you need Corid for 5-7 days, and sometimes need to do it a second time. I tend to have chicks get that in the 2-4 week age range and have lost a few :/ it sucks.

Alternatively, you can use medicated feed but for this case you need Corid.

I was thinking that too. I'm not sure where I can get corid, but it's late here. I'm hoping she can survive at least for a bit because she's fighting very strongly.

Do you know anyone locally with chickens? Because it might be worth the risk of a late night text asking if they have any.

If you're in a metro area that has Amazon same day, sometimes a I've seen stuff arrive by 5-6 am.

Otherwise maybe look through natural remedy posts-- maybe those will buy you time.

Unfortunately, I've seen in kill in a really short period of time. Even if you got Corid now, there's still a big chance she would pass. So just do your best to keep her comfortable in the meantime but also give yourself grace. She may not make it but this will have you prepared for the next time (and there will 100% be a next time.)
