Need help on ways to build out this Amazon run into a sturdy chicken house for 30 so layers. I want ideas on how to construct a proper roof for it given it’s a dome type top. I already plan on covering the walls with plywood and or siding completely leaving only small windows on the bottom with hinges to open and close with hardware cloth. I will attach it to a wood base on the bottom with wheels to move and have a chicken fence to let them forage in day. Help me figure out how to install galvanized roofing or hard plastic shell I don’t want to use tarps. Thanks

Where are you located? You can put your location in your profile, and then it's always there. Just the state is fine, or country if you're outside the US.

It really helps to know, as climate matters a lot when you're talking about coops and chickens. What works for me in Michigan isn't appropriate for someone in Florida or Arizona or Alaska.

I am in central Texas around 20 minutes from Austin. No snow loads , no direct hurricanes, ocasional high winds , rainy days, needs shade for sure (sun and wind destroy the thickest tarps available in about 6 months)

Miss Biddy's hoop coop looks like a better option than your trying to work with the Amazon coop. The Amazon coop is not as sturdy as it looks.

We built a coop hoop 23 years ago for our sheep. Used heavy duty tarps. With each corner tied to a metal post it survived 100 mph winds. Well, one of the cattle panels bent a little, but it's still out there.

If I were you, I would build the hoop coop, you'd need more than two panels. Put a heavy duty tarp over it. Then build a roof over the top to protect the tarp from the sun. The roof would not need to be anything fancy it is just for the shade. I would not use a metal roof because it will get hot.

Not very good with building stuff myself i m just going to go off the linked hoop coop galvanized roof design and use the Amazon run tubing as guide. I have 5 total Amazon runs ranging from 5x6 to 10ft by 30ft some are held down by trampoline straps and one is bolted to cement footing. The only issue is the tarps get shredded and rip off even metal zip ties. But now I will add solid roof with strong washers screws.
