Need help, chick stuck to egg

Had a chick just hatch and he has not separated from the egg. Seems the umbilical cord is still attached to both chick and egg. Anyone have suggestions? I had to break lockdown to rescue the little guy as his other hatchmates were pecking at him a lot.

yes this exact thing happened to me last hatch. I removed as much of the egg as possible and left him alone for the incubator to help dry the cord...... in about 6 hours when it is not so fresh...... and a little dried.. i got scissors and cut it off. I was afraid to cut it right away because it looked like there was blood in it. I let the little chick hop around and drag the bit of egg shell with him until it dried enough to cut..... I hope this helps...

Well he fell and yanked the cord off. we hope he'll be okay.

i have had that problem as well. i watched as the other chicks stumbed and ripped the cord from the chick that was attached. i also had chicks try to eat it off of other chicks. they always survived. i wouldn't worry about it.
