Hello everyone I am new to owning chickens this is my first flock, I have noticed that one of my hens seems to have an issue around her vent it is very red sore and irritated it almost looks like a prolaps. I will try and attach a photo. Has anyone else ever encountered this before? Or any suggestions on how to help her? Sorry if the picture is graphic and it is also upside down... Poor Barbra She is otherwise perfectly healthy laying eggs and eating.
Thank you

Thank you

It does look like prolapse.
Give her a good soak in an epsom salt bath, clean her up good, then apply some hemorrhoid cream or honey and see if you can gently push it back in. You may have to do this a few times.

Keep her separated until you are sure it's staying in (usually overnight). Give her extra calcium and give her normal feed to her. If you have any poultry vitamins, you can provide some in her water.
