NEED HELP- Chickens without water for two days

Quote:
We have automatic waterer for our ducks, and it's the worst investment we've ever made!! It leaks, and sometimes it will shut off other times it won't! We paid over 30 bucks for it and it doesn't work!! I was dissapointed.....

I use a small kiddie pool in the run. For 20 or so adults it would take over a week to empty. I don't ever let the water sit that long- I clean and refill every other day. The chickens have no problems drinking from it, they just hop up onto the rim and get a drink. Just an idea for those of you who have to travel or those of you with alot of chickens.

We have a water in the pen and then my grand daughters pool the chickens will drink out of the pool more then their water

we dump and clean the pool every couple of days.

My garden is next to the chicken coop and run. I have a trickle irrigation system set up for the garden and also a 1gph dripper in a pan in the chicken yard. That makes watering the chickens really easy. Turn the valve on or off as needed and the dish fills up, overflows a little, but that's okay too. If the dish gets dirty. I just let the trickle run for several hours and dish and water get clean. Oh btw I have an artesian well so I don't have to worry about water bills.

I can't believe it. I am still getting just 1-2 eggs a day. It feels like I have started all over...I am frustrated...
