Hey guys!

For my biology class, I have to create a dichotomous key for identifying species. I want to make one for identifying breeds of chickens. Here's the info my teacher gave:
Make your own dichotomous key--remember to choose characteristics for your couplets (statements) that truly divide your species into separate groups. Use separate sheets of paper if you need more room than the lab gives. Bring the lab and drawings or pictures printed or copied from a source that depict the species in your dichotomous key. You can choose any type of organism for your key--plants, fish, mammals, people, etc. Work through your key once you think it is done to make sure it really works and you have accounted for each species.

A dichotomous key is a tool used for identifying species of animals. For example, here's a link to a simple one:

If y'all could give me ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Does the key have to identify species? If yes, then you can't make one on chicken breeds because they are not different species. Whether they are Brahmas, Australorps, Orpingtons, etc. they are all the same species. They are all Gallus gallus domesticus.
Yeah, I realized that, but it was too late to delete my post. Oops.
