You know, looks-wise, #4 is my choice, too, but #5 is the one with the sweetest disposition... OMG... decisions!!! Once the head falls off, there's nothing you can do...
I only really have room for 5 birds in the breeder pen... which is why I wanted 4 hens and one roo. Hubby thinks I have WAYYYYY too many roos as it is, and I have to agree when I'm in the coop and hear all 8 of them having crowing wars. I planned on picking out the best 4 hens and best roo for the breeding program and the others would go out in the layer's coop.
I can't tell from the photos... does Oliver have black wingtips? I just keep looking at him... he is just so magnificent! Puts mine to shame! I just love the pure white on the saddles... none of my birds are pure like that. They all have some form of black speckling here and there.
Well, I think I've made my decision, and it's Dom (#5) that's staying. He is the gentlest thing, and has been fussing over and coddling Emily ever since they were separated. I had to do a little suturing on Emily last night, to help close up the skin on her neck. She was such a trooper. :aww She's doing really well today, so far. The other three... well, they've just been hell on wheels ever since I took her away. Hormones must be just a-raging right now.
Thanks again for everyone's input. You're all such a blessing!
