I have a Khaki Campbell drake that is loosing all his feathers. He is not moulting, just loosing all his feathers. All of our other ducks are just fine. I have quarantined him until I find out the problem. Also there is crusties under his eyes. I have searched the net for duck diseases and have found nothing with these symptoms.

I feed my ducks an all flock food purchased at Atwoods (like Tractor Supply). They have covered shelter at night and during the day they free range in my large back yard. And they have 2 large pools to drink from and swim in.

I know you have to post more before adding a pic but it sure would help. How long has this been going on? How old?

He is about a year old. He has shown no other symptoms. We noticed this about 5 days ago. At first we thought he was being picked on by our other drake, but that was unfounded.

Okay where are the feathers missing? and are you sure the other drake isn't doing this? Give some back ground, bedding, housing, swim time, you say you feed an all flock so do I, how about other food? have you though about adding some poultry vitamins to see if that would help. and has he molted before? How many ducks do you have? drakes to ducks ratio. Just trying to eliminate stuff.

Uhm, could we back up?

By the way, thanks for joining us. I get a little intense trying to figure things out. Please bear with me.

So, how do we know he's not molting?

He is missing feathers on his back and wings. He has moulted in October or November. This just does not look like a duck molting. They have access to a large tub of water in their pen and 2 large kiddie pools in the yard. The water is changed regularly. I use straw for bedding and it is also changed regularly.

I'll have to look in the morning. If it is mites how do you treat them?
