need help fast... coyotes..

I would have to say ...if using the ''recipe''..consider the neighbors pets....an innocent little pup that the little girl nextdoor loves, or an old lady who has an old companion dog for years....You could break someones heart with the loss of an innocent pet with that poison idea.
I am just thinkin like a dog lover......we considered poison as well...when we lost our first flock to coons...but dont have the heart to accidently kill a beloved pet by mistake. Just something to consider when using poison.

The peeing idea is a good one....my poor hubby is getting tired of having to go outside everytime he has to pee. Everytime he heads for the bathroom I make him go outside and I tell him which corner he needs to pee on..

We also have coyotes and I have thought maybe if they have the wild coons, possums and such they are not that hungry to have to really work to get a chicken? We have them walk by, drives my dogs crazy, but I have never lost a cat or a chicken to them, I just figured they were not hungry I am prepared for the day they are though.

Against my better judgement posting this here, but sounds like you need help fast.....Pop

The Recipe

Go to the feed store and get some Golden Malrin. It`s a fly bait used in stables. It is in the equine section and comes in 1 lb and 5 lb cans. Put 1/2 cup of Golden Malrin on a pie tin or styrofoam plate. On top of it place 1 tablespoon of anykind of berry preserves. Very humane. Kills within 10 ft. Put it out in several locations at night and pick up the predators in the morning. Caution, cats will not eat it as they don`t like the chemical smell. Dogs will eat it so put the dog up when The Recipe is out. Don`t get it on your hands. Works on coyotes, fox, coons, possum, etc.
Save for my free ranging birds I have a few I can't catch but these coyotes got my whole family of guennies and this is war

:welcome :frowThis is an old thread but still pertinent. Coyotes are very hard to catch. I have put traps out for them but they never took the bait. I had one bird that was killed which I put in a trap as bait. The coyote managed to get a grip on a leg that stuck out of the trap and actually dragged the trap. It even tried to dig under the trap but wouldn't go in. The best defense is to contain the birds in an area with electric wires with a good powerful charger. Here is a website for people who like to free range. I don't free range anymore due to losses from predators but my birds have large pens and are well protected. Good luck...
