need help fast please!!!!

ok, will do....I tried drying her the best I could, I am afraid of hurting her more but I will try the blow dryer
Just hold it away from her and use on low setting, gently fluff feathers as you dry her, they dry fairly fast. When i mentioned swabbing area,i literally meant wiping area, not bathing, sorry for the confusion.

Omphalitis is usually wet or moist, and has a foul odor I think. Hopefully it is just a hernia which is a weak spot in the musculature, and maybe it will close up as she grows. Watch to see if it swells up any. I sure hope it isn't omphalitis because it won't survive.

I am just throwing out a gut feeling that it is a congenital abnormality or injury. Maybe herniation or abdominal wall/abdomen just not formed correctly....
Or injury with hematoma

I am so very grateful for each of you taking the time to help me and my chicky tonight..... really so grateful.
It doesn't sound like there is anything more I can do tonight so I will just leave her be and see how she is tomorrow and let you all know.
Again thank you all so much :)

not really. I would say more like a hard ball under her skin, but around the ball feels soft
Put her back with other chicks, all you can do is keep navel area clean and encourage drinking/eating/keep her warm. Possibly adding something like sav a chick to water for extra vitamins may help, but often they are frail and do not survive. If it is omphalitis antibiotics can be given to combat infection, but there is no guarantee they will help and b/c we are not even sure this is her problem i hesitate to suggest giving her anything.

ok so one more quick update..... Chick #2 is doing great now!! she has happy settled into her brooder with the rest of the flock and is acting totally normal.... maybe she was just scared I think

chick #3 seems to be staying the same in terms of appearance but when I put her back in the brooder with her friends she seemed so happy :) she went right over to them and began eating too. She is currently snuggled up with them and dozing off.

Praying for more good news tomorrow... will keep everyone updated :)
