This morning I found one of my ducks laying there very stiff and not moving. I noticed a bunch of blueish green poop around where he was laying. Him and another duck are separated at night so my geese don't pick on them. When I put them to bed last night he was fine. Anyway so I picked him up and brought him inside and noticed that there was blueish green stuff on his belly near his back legs. There was a white/clerkship color thing poking out between where his back legs attach to his body. I wanna say it was a bone but I'm not sure that's what it was. I also noticed his bill was a dark dark green color. He passed away soon after I brought him in. I've dealt with a lot of illnesses but I'm clueless as to what happened to him. The only other time I've seen anything like this is when one of my ducks was attacked and I had to give her penicillin shots. Her poop turned a blueish green but then stopped after I stopped the shots. I very devastated and would just like some insight as to what might of caused him to die. I wish I had pictures but at the time didn't think to take any.

A necropsy is the way to know, but it sounds like you may have buried him.

Sorry you lost him.

If you have any of the poop left, you might take that to a vet and have them do a lab test on it. Was the thing sticking out of his cloaca? Might it have been his phallus?

Yes I already buried him. Thank you. Would it have to be an avian vet that I send the poop too or can it be any vet? No it wasn't that far down it was more of between his back legs like almost directly in the middle. If he wasn't in the condition he was I would of spent a bit more time looking at everything but knowing he didn't have much longer I decided not to mess with him and to just let him go peacefully. I know for sure it was like whitish/clear colored. I've been looking at pictures of duck anatomy and bones but haven't really found anything in the right area to even know what it could have been.

Thanks Amiga I will try over in that forum and see if anyone has any ideas.
Perhaps he was impaled by something.
as far as I know unless he was while he was roaming the yard during the day I don't see how that could of happened.
