wow, you guys down south have it made. That is how much it costs up here....to spay my girl dog is about $350. I remember when we were down in NC it only cost us $60 for a boy and $100 for a girl. We had called one of those *groups* to get help and they were out of $$, in April.....
I called around and my boy dog cost me just over $150 and he is small

When we were in NC we got both cats neutered and full run of vaccs, ear mite treatment and worming for like $160. Our Dog spay was a bit more cause they do it by weight she got vaccs, fecal and pain meds/sedative for a little over $200. Oh, and she was in heat - they charge extra for that because of the additional bleeding risks.

I am nervous about neutering price for our puppy. He weighs roughly 45 maybe more and he's not 5 months yet! We are gonna have to do him soon or it's gonna cost a fortune!!!

Those of you that have spent a lot - have you actually called shelters or the aspca to see if you have a low-cost clinic in your area? Most aren't even in the phone book let alone online. You can call all the vets you want and they'll ALL be expensive b/c they have high overhead. The clinics don't b/c all they do are spay/neuters and vaccinations. It's worth checking around.

We have several thrift stores here that use the money from selling stuff for low-cost spay/neuter help. $10/cat, and at some times they run a "big dog" special - $40!!! I wish that were available EVERYWHERE! I got my Pyr neutered for $40!

Yay I like the prices im hereing. I just have one more question. Technically my mom works for the government so she doesnt really have low income. She actually gets paid a good amount. The problem is that with all the bills and animals...you get where this is going right? Well do you think if my mom explained the situation the places that say must have low income would still accept my cat? Oh and to writer of words, what did you do when, I beleive you said, you called a spay and nueter van... oh duh you already typed that LOL. Yet again if ive already mentioned it. Thanks for the help everyone

We have a Neuter Commuter that drives around in a big RV and does it. You have to get an appointment, but it is much cheaper, I think around $35. You can also go down to the Humane Society and buy a certificate for $25 to use there.

Call the Humane Society, your local University; there has to be cheap spay clinics around you.
