My husband is in cronic pain from an accident and has become this horrible nasty person that I did not marry. He feels worthless and is depressed and has driven me to wits end. He tried to help last week with one of my horses and it stepped on him and broke his toe, yeah more pain. He tried to run the riding lawn mower and mowed off some new trees I had just planted, dumbed out on pain killers.

His birthday is in two weeks and for several years has been talking about these frizzle birds that he saw on the Jay Leno Show. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier. He is capable of taking care of chickens, loves animals and if I could get him some show quality birds he could get involved in something! I'll buy him some books on breeding. . . Can anyone direct me to someone with show quality frizzles. I know nothing about them.

Also, Duane Urch here in Minnesota also raises them and has show quality stock.
He is hatching until next month.
His phone number is 507-451-6782.
I got some Whites (they are bantam White Frizzle Cochins) I got a really nice pullet by chance (won't bore you with that story). So, I went back and got more to go with it.
You aren't too far away, so you would have them in a day or two days. He ships on Mondays, when he has them for you.
Good luck.

If this wasn't a forum about chickens I would swear you were my friend from work! She's in the same situation but her husband doesn't want any more animals so chicken projects are out. Check and see if there are any meet ups near you soon, do an online search for chicken breeders in your area and if all else fails resort to craigslist for pet quality and then if he decides he'd like to get into breeding and showing he can direct his energy into acquiring the bird of his dreams! Seems like there are a lot of cochin frizzles so that may be your start then if he'd like a different breed he's got a world of information right here to help him narrow it down! Good luck!

wish you were closer too, I have a favorite bantam black frizzle cochin chick, who's a roo and he has to go. 7 of 8 of my hatched bantam cochins are frizzles.
