Hello,
We have around 10feet x 6 feet space...
I would like to know, how many chickens could fit there, coop and run included...
We can't really have more rooms, and I'm scared to let them go free in the rest of the yard and loose them from jumping the yard fences.

Also, when you build a coop, how do you make sure that no animal will dig under the fence? What are your tricks about that?
For the ventilation, how do you do it, in the simplier way?

Thank you... I'm not even started with chicken and I'm already finding it really hard...

I wouldn't put more than 3.

One way is to make an "apron," maybe a 2' wide piece of wire fencing that essentially lays on the ground all around the run but is attached at the bottom, firmly. You can dig down a foot or two and have the fence essentially start 2' below ground, but that's a lot more work. You can place something like cement blocks or those paving pieces along the fence, if it is sturdy and heavy enough.

Imagine a square shed with a roof slanted only one direction. Now have an opening several inches wide at the highest point of the coop, between the roof and top of the wall. Of course this needs to be secured from predators with something like 1/2" hardware cloth (also called wire mesh.) There only needs to be a single opening, but it needs to be a lot bigger than a few holes drilled. For a small coop, one of those metal hole covers for homes would probably be enough. The air will eschange just from the difference in temperature, which comes form the birds, andthe warmer air takes the ammonia and humidity out with it.
