need help here please with electrolytes

Hi Ozark Hen,

Wanted to let you know, that you should expect to give them some serious lice treatments once they get there. The ones I collected, especially the silkie roosters, had hundreds/thousands of lice eggs still stuck in their feathers...which means...several hatch-outs to treat before they are under control. yuck!

The rooster I got with the grey silkie feathering is the --friendliest-- chicken I have ever met! Hope your's are too!

I don't recommend gatorade as it has a bunch of other things in it that are not necessary and possibly detremental.

In wild bird rescues- I often use pedialyte.

Whatever you choose to use do NOT use anything GRAPE flavored. I learned this during an oil spill when we ended up with hundreds of seizing birds all at once. Turns out many birds cannot handle the artificial grape flavoring.......

THE POST OFFICE LOST THESE POOR BIRDS!!! THEY WERE BEING AIR-EXPRESSED BY FED-EX (P.O. SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN EXPRESS PLANE) AND NOW THEY FOUND OUT FED EX IS REFUSING TO FLY ANYTHING LIVE|!! POST OFFICES IN INDIANA AND MISSOURI ARE TRYING TO LOCATE THE BIRDS...NO LUCK WHAT SO EVER!! DEB AND I ARE FREAKING OUT HERE! P.O. SAYS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCANNED BY AT LEAST TWO OFFICES BY NOW AND THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE SCAN SINCE THEY LEFT INDIANA!! MY MAIN POST OFFICE EMAILED OFFICES ON THE ROUTE TO TELL EVERYONE THAT IF ANYONE FINDS THEM TO OPEN THE BOX AND GIVE THEM WATER!! THIS IS A DESPARATE SITUATION AND WE HAVE NO INFO ON THEIR WHERE-A-BOUTS.

Ozark Hen,
I had remembered that you were due to receive your rescue birds today and you were on my mind. I'm so sorry that the poor babies are missing. Please keep us posted. You and Deb hang in there! You and the birds are in my thoughts and prayers.
