Need help!! Home made incubator temp is too hot!!

Well I made an incubator today for fun.... When I tested it out the eggs had water droplets on them from the humidity and the temperature was above 105... I have a 40 watt bulb in a styrofoam cooler...how can I fix these problems? Thank you!!

I put a thermostat in mine, so it regulates the temp. Maybe if you add in little vent holes it would bring down the temp? I am new at this to, so I wish you luck!

You can use one of those too. But you can buy a water heater thermostat for less the 10 bucks.

~~You need a Thermostat to control your heat source, one designed for an Incubators requirements. A “110V 10A Mini Digital STC-1000 All-purpose Temperature Controller With Sensor” is a good choice, available on e-bay or Amazon. A water heater thermostat is not a good choice, for its sensitivity is not ideal for your purpose.

I made a incubator awhile back as well, I really recommend a 25w bulb. it gave me exactly 102 in temp, this is the temp you need in a still air incubator... With this bulb you won't need a water heater thermostat , since a thermostat is only To make sure the temp doesn't go to high. A thermostat won't help when the temp Is to low.. Like mentioned above just add vent holes to regulate temp a bit up or down.

I made the same bator, a 25 w bulb will do the trick and a cheap dimmer switch, turn it way down.

Oh you want a Bator that is High maintenance and prone to failure. Outside changes in humidity and temperature will push your system o/s the nominal. A thermostat is the proper choice, even the cheapest of incubators has a "THERMOSTAT", And yes thermostat can run a cooling fan as well.

I like to just have to watch my Bator work, not constantly making adjustment to it. OMG

Get a dimmer and make a few holes to regulate fresh air and humidity, good luck on your quest and don't let the haters (^) get u down.
