Need Help Identifying Breed and Gender

Well, heck! I collected the opposite of eggs apparently. I had collected eggs from both the GNH hen and the Red Star hen, thinking I was collecting the most from the GNH. Now, as I thought was possible, and confirmed by your post, I collected more of the Red Star hen eggs and less of the GNH. GRRR.

Well, a newbie lessons learned.

I've decided to keep the 3 pullets that are straight GNH, and maybe 2 of the cockerels. Here are pics of those I'm keeping. Question about feathering ... one of the cockerels has odd feathers on his back that don't lay flat (they sort of stick up). What's with this??!! Is he one I should cull?

The first two pics are those of the Cockerel with the odd feathering on top. The next 3 pics are those of the pullets I'm going to keep. The last photo is that of my hen (momma of these youngsters).

Are the feathers always like that (as in grow in like that?).

I think so. I noticed the odd feathering about a month or so ago. I really like the looks of this guy, but I want to breed the best, so not sure if I should cull him from the group.

If you are breeding your birds, then yes, I would cull him.
