Hello all,

Had this little Seabright for the past 7 weeks(not sure how old she is), kept her quarantined for 2 weeks when we got her, no problems.

Noticed about a week ago that she was squinting her eye a bit, assumed it was a minor injury or something. The other night I was checking on them and saw with my flashlight that her eye was a bit foggy. Brought her in and noticed that there was a small white area on the eye in addition to the fogginess. I'm hoping it's just an eye injury due to a lack of any other symptoms. I suspect injury as another pullet her age had an eye swell up for a day due to bullying (we've got a mix of sizes and sometimes the big girls don't play nice).

I have been looking to see if it is Marek's and can't really tell. The eye still responds to light and whenever I attempt to test her pupil reaction, she closes her eye as if in pain.

Sorry for the lousy photos, but she was not cooperating!

X2. The eye looks like she could going blind from an injury, but I would treat for infection, just in case. You can buy Terramycin eye ointment from feed stores, and ciprofloxacin eye drops online from First State Vet Supply. Your local vet might sell you one locally but they usually have to see the pet.
