Thanks for the guess, but she is over a month old now and she's definitely a silver duckwing old english game hen. I'll post a pic of her tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure your brown duckling is a Khaki Campbell because Swedish ducks/ducklings will have a white breast, from under the bill halfway down on the breast when mature, and some white on the wings...Khaki's aren't runners, athey are lightweight though (reaching about 4 1/2 lbs.), so they will probly be a little more active especially when youn lol! Excellent foragers! They will be like a seal brown color, the drakes (males) having some darker markings.... The Magpie's are lighter-weight than Ancona's... I think yours is an Ancona...

Crazy question...but what CITY did you get those in?

We had a storm a little while back, and I went into Atwoods here in Wichita Falls,....almost picked out a duckling that looked identical to the yellow/black one you have. I also bought a bunch of the cresteds just like the one you have...

I think you guess is right about the silverduckwing - I have 2 in my brooder that looked just like yours before they started to get thier feathers - if that is what yours is I suggest getting something to cover your brooder as soon as that one gets his wings - mine are VERY flighty little buggers LOL

and yes ducklings are cute and MESSY I have mine in a brooder all thier own and I have to change the bedding ALOT more than the chicks- and there is only 3 ducklings to 23 chicks and those 3 are messy LOL

p.s -- I LOVE the name mudpie for a duck it fits perfect once they are outside playing in the mud LOL

just looked at your pics again -- EE have green/willow colored legs and your little one has what looks like pink legs - so that would mean I dont think it is an EE

Everyone sees the wild-type down that they have and always assume that they are EE just because of the pattern. You have to take more into consideration that just the pattern. Having yellow legs, I am sure, as you already know, its not an EE. Silver duckwing OEG is what I would have guessed to start things. You have any more recent pics of the ducks?

#1 chick.....from the first post:

does not have the "crazy stripes" across the head.....I have Phoenix chicks that look just like this one....and at about the same size...a hair larger than the bantams.
hope this helps!
