I recently acquired this rooster and have searched books, the internet and friends. No one knows what it is!
His comb is a single short wide comb and his earlobe is white, this is what is throwing me off. He is smaller than a Wyandotte or an Americana. He weighs approx. 6-8 lbs. His feathers leave the appearance he is heaver than he really is. His hackle and back looks like narrow lacing, his breast are wide lacing, his tale is black and green barred. His temperament is really docile, he even runs from my Dotte. For the most part he is calm and mild mannered. I ve compared him to many breeds the closest I have gotten is possibly a Buff Standard Brahma Chicken or an Orphington cross. He came from a breeder I just do not know which one. A neighbor bought him as a barnyard special, then moved away leaving him to fend for himself, he became one of the few luck ones to surive.
