Need help identifying what's wrong with my hen

At her age she's not being bogged down by a difficult annual molt and she's not broody. With a messy bum, I'd definitely check very close for mites and lice and have another fecal float ran or start her on a dewormer. Are you located in the USA?
Yes, I'm in the US

I'm definitely not asking for your exact location but what state are you in?
I don't really like giving out my location, but if you're wondering about the weather, it's been really cold (specifically in the 20s and teens at night) and snowy lately.

I understand. I was wondering if you're on the east coast. In NC and SC, there have been confirmed cases of Avian Influenza. I'm not saying I suspect that, but I just wanted you to be aware because you have a bird that not feeling well. If you're in NC or SC, I don't want someone to mention it out of the blue or at your vet and you feel blindsided. I hope that makes sense ❤️

Yes, that makes sense and it was very thoughtful of you to let me know! I actually heard about it on this site; do you know what the symptoms are?

Your weather sounds nearly identical to the weather around me 😃
