I use a product from Durvet, comes in a little white bottle, with a measuring cup in it. It's vitamins and electrolytes. I've used it for a long time, anytime I have a wounded critter, or a weak one, or one that's gone through stress. Let me get the link for it, and I'll edit to add it.She seems weaker than the others so I’m going to put some stuff in the water to help her
Lol! That’s hilarious I have the exact thing and used it about an hour ago!I use a product from Durvet, comes in a little white bottle, with a measuring cup in it. It's vitamins and electrolytes. Thank you!I'm very happy she hatched out safely, though! You did a great job.
There are many who say that any chick that can't hatch out on its own will always be weaker than others, but I've saved some that grew up to be the best layers and/or mamas in the flock. She just may need a bit more boost in the beginning, to help her get over the extra battle she had to get out of the egg.
Ok that’s good to knowCute little chipmunk! I, personally, would much rather help a chick than risk it dying for lack of help. So far everyone I've helped has turned out healthy and strong. I know it's just a matter of time before one doesn't... but better to take the chance than to never give the chick one. Just for future reference - I also keep some styptic powder, corn starch, or baking powder (not soda!) on hand, when helping. That way, if there's any bleeding, I can dab some of that on to stop it right away. It also works for dog and cat claws, if you nick the quick.
