Need help making a decision

Well, I've had the ducks for 2 days. Let's just say I think I'll stick with chickens. The ducks are absolutely adorable and so friendly. They are definately not meant for confinement though. They are very bored and already the backyard smells bad and the run has been turned to stinky mud. They are going back home tonight. I'm really glad I was able to do this - now I don't have to worry about what to do with the ducks. Thanks for everyones info. Maybe someday when I live somewhere that doesn't have so many dogs running around I'll get some ducks. For now I'll just be happy with my chickens.

It was so lucky for you to have those neighbours help you out with your experiment- It just goes to show how even the best thought out plans- and doing things right by the book- sometimes still doesnt mean things will work out the way you want.

Sorry that things did not work out for you- Ducks really are fun to keep- But they arent for everyone- or every yard.

It is always better to learn from experience- as everybodies situations are different. But you at least now know for the future If you do ever live somewhere else- what you will need to be able to keep some ducks for good not just a few days.
