NEED HELP! MY HEN IS ACTING UNUSUAL UPDATE #2!!

Wow, quite a conviction of AI. I have found it to be very helpful in managing my birds. I have found that how you phrase a question can effect the answer given, so it helps to provide a lot of detail about the situation in your question, and then ask multiple follow up questions: garbage in, garbage out. Thank you for your help Icardinale! AI can be useful! But like I said before you should use good judgment when using it! I might try it one day!

Hi All, I bought these two products below at Tractor Supply today. I am dealing with a problem with one of my hens. The fellow at tractor supply recommended fly x. I've never used either one of these products before. I asked him for elector PSP because a lot of people highly recommend this even on here, because it gets rid of the pest right away! However, it's kind of out of my budget right now! So I was looking for permithin 10. Tractor supply didn't have the elector PSP but did have the permithin 10. I almost got the permithin 10. Then, he turned me on to the fly x product and said that it has the same ingredients as elector PSP.

Then somebody recommended the garden poultry dust. And it has permethian in it as well. I haven't used either one of these products. And although I have read the instructions, I would like some more help and guidance on using these products. If anyone else has used these products on here? I need to start treating my hen with the lice today. So hopefully somebody sees this and can help me out! Thank you!
Sorry I didn't see this until today.
I haven't used Fly X, but I did look it up. It is not the same ingredient as Elector PSP. Elector PSP contains spinosad which makes it a one time treatment. The Fly X is similar to the Permethrin 10 and will work, but the Permethrin 10 concentrate(this is what I have used in the past) will be more cost effective as you will most likely need to treat more than once. I use a 32 oz spray bottle for the chickens and a one gallon pump sprayer for the coop.
Fly X or diluted Permethrin 10 can be sprayed directly on your chickens. I have also used the Garden and Poultry Dust. With the dust, I put some into an old sock and pounced it onto the birds trying to make sure the dust went down into the feathers to the skin. It was pretty messy, so I only used it once.
I know with mites you will also have to treat the coop. I believe you need to treat the coop for lice as well. A spray will be the easiest way to treat the coop. You will need to remove all the bedding and dispose of it where your flock can't get to it. Thoroughly spray the coop and put in new bedding once it is dry. The chickens and coop will need to be treated again in 10 days to kill any lice or mites that have hatched since the first treatment.
