Hi,

We just got 4 red cross chickens and are looking to add two female ducks. We would want the ducks for their eggs but would also need them to be quiet. What do you recommend? I like the Welshs but heard they can be loud.

Thanks,
Steph

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid I'm not a duck person so can't be of much help to you on deciding which breeds would best suit your situation. Please do drop by the duck section of the forum for help on this from the duck experts. Here is the link > https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

Hope the duck folks can help, I can't imagine a duck not quacking his head off, that's what ducks do. At least they don't crow.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I've never kept ducks but some of my friends say that muscovies and peking are a wonderful breed. I would definitely check out the duck link provided by Yorkshire Coop. Best of luck to you!
