looks like my Asian. here is a pic. hope it helps either way:D

Is the breed just called Asian or is it mixed or something else
when I purchased these it just said Asian. the picture at tractor supply had pictures of them laying black eggs. I also have an Asian black hen that lays brown eggs. I am assuming they are different but when I came home to look up just an Asian I couldn't find any info on them. I even tried looking at tractor supply site. so I'm of no help here, I have been trying to figure that out myself.
sorry:he

I know australorps have white as chicks, but I think it’s too much white. I’m going with mottled Orpington.

Hatchery stock australorps legs vary. Go into any hatchery and look at picture of their australorp chick legs. Some have a lot of black and some have little or even vary Little Black. This changes as they age.
Plus Mottled chicks tend to have much much much more white/yellow on them then this chick from my expierence. Then again hatchery stock can vary.
To my knowledge of working for TSC I wasn’t aware we sold Mottled orphingtons.

That’s all true, but it varies from time to time and tractor supply to tractor supply. One could be selling asils and another one sells gold laced polish.

I know how hatcheries work. They send feed stores whatever the hatchery chooses. I know things vary by location. But I also know what’s more commonly shipped out.
I also know feedstore mislabel chicks and mix bins a lot so that’s also unreliable. I cannot tell you how many times I had to sort chicks into different bins because of mislabeled breeds.
It sucks when someone unexperienced comes in and buys what they think are sexlink pullets and end up with straight run barred rocks or whatever else.
It’s hard having employees work with chicks who have no idea anything about breeds. Being the ASM at the time I was always called over to help people who wanted the chicks. Whether that be questions or help identifying and picking out birds.
So whatever the poster has I hope they just end up enjoying the bird, whatever breed or sex it may be!
