Hello everybody! I just got started into chicken/fowl bird keeping and so far it’s been a blast! The chicks and ducklings have been keeping pests in check and keeping themselves in check, but enough of the introduction I have this one small black and white chick which you will see in the middle of this picture and I need help identifying it as I bought 4 tractor supply chicks in each bin (sadly 1 passed away ) I think it’s an ameraucana but I could be mistaken

Mottled something. Can I have a side pic of it’s legs?

As of right now I can’t but I’m pretty sure it isn’t mottled judging that I got it from tractor supply so if anything it’s an ameracauna
It’s not, missing all of the traits, I need to know if it’s legs are feathered or not. Tractor supply has a variety of breeds, and the lack of uniformity in the patterning said mottled to me. Definitely not amerucauna.

Half of it is covered in feathers but most of it going down to the legs is not and the mottleds normally are fully covered in feathers

Mottled's a coloring, not a breed. What you're likely thinking is mottled cochins, which do have fully feathered legs, but there are a lot of mottled birds without any leg feathers at all. (mottled Javas, for instance.) I agree with redranger that the chick looks like it's mottled.

Most likely not a Java as it’s not even on the website so it’s most likely a mottled orpington
