I liked using the grow gel. My girls (i HOPE they are all girls) loved it.

I read in Raising Chicks! that after a long trip from a hatchery you can give chicks a small serving of diluted sugar-water. Also helps 'perk them up.'

I've read many posts about using sugar water. If I order more chicks in the future I'll probably just use that method and not bother with the Gro Gel, even though my chicks liked it.
